2024 MGI Sustainability Award
Elysha and Sjon Welters embarked together In the world of fermented soy and other natural foods in the mid 70s, first in their native Netherlands and since 1983 in the US. Macrobiotic restaurants, natural food retailing, education, and food manufacturing (natto, miso, tempeh, koji, tofu, seitan) are part of their story. They live in Vermont among a community of like-minded people creating a more sustainable, regenerative way of living.
